Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a peaceful Christmas with plenty of love and passable reproductions of grandma\’s recipes! Here\’s what I found interesting this week:
1) My favorite thing online this week was the New York Times Dialect Quiz! Being that I come from an Italian-American family from New York, I was really curious to see the results. My siblings and I grew up saying \”soda\” and \”you guys\” which is quite different from the other places in the country where I have lived. The results of the quiz tell you where in the country other people have a similar dialect. This is what my map looks like: http://nyti.ms/K6m6gr.
2) Martha Stewart\’s Leftover Wrapping Paper Ideas are also pretty cool. The ideas of covering pen holders and clipboards are now on my to-do list. I have such boring clipboards!
3) Have you tried Kraft\’s Raspberry Ganache Pie Recipe? The pie is basically one big chocolate and raspberry truffle in a pie crust and was a huge hit at our Christmas dinner table. Highly recommended!
4) Reading plays may not be your thing but this week I really enjoyed J.M. Barrie\’s Quality Street. The book is in the public domain (and free) via Google Books. You can also check out the film adaptation with Katherine Hepburn and Franchot Tone if you are so inclined.
Okay, that\’s all for now. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
