5 Things: Early Thanksgiving Edition

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a wonderful week. Although if you\’re currently thinking \”Ack! Thanksgiving is next week?!\” You are not alone. \”Where has November gone?\” And \”What in the world am I bringing to Thanksgiving dinner?\” are also good questions.

While I\’m freaking out with you, though, I hope you\’ll take some time to enjoy\”5 Things.\” Maybe you\’ll find some of them helpful in your mad dash to plan Thanksgiving!

1) Here\’s the first thing I searched for after realizing that Thanksgiving is next week: side dish recipes. The only downside to all the beautiful photos is that I want to try them all now. Maybe save some for Christmas.

2) The blog Or So She Says… has a pretty comprehensive list of Thanksgiving traditions to start with your family.

3) Check out this photographer who takes pictures of people who match museum artwork. Very clever body of work!

4) Good Housekeeping has a very interesting feature: \”This is What Thanksgiving Looked Like the Year You Were Born.\” If you\’re curious about the Thanksgiving trends from the last 100 years, you\’ve got your wish. Very interesting fads including some you might remember (the cake filled with layers of pies) and some you might not (the advent of the stand mixer).

5) If you didn\’t know that Matthew McConaughey was a cool guy, check out how he celebrated his birthday this year. Adorable!

Okay, that\’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
