Good morning! It\’s nice to see Saturday again, isn\’t it? I think that we\’ve earned it.
Today is the 78th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It is very strange that another tragedy happened on that site in 2019. Let\’s keep those families in our thoughts and prayers this season. There\’s never a good time to lose a loved one but the holidays seem to add an extra, bitter edge for years to come.
I\’m sharing a prayer (an advertisement, actually) from The Tully Independent on December 22, 1916. I love old newspapers and that glimpse at the past… the language, the sincerity!
My prayer for the last remnants of 2019 is that we all know family peace and are much more aware of the gifts that we have been given. There are many families without loved ones his year. Let\’s be grateful for those we have and keep them in our prayers as well:
