5 Things: Bless Your Dorky Soul Edition

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week with things slowly sliding even closer to whatever your new normal will look like. Summer may give us all some time to reset things a little.

Well, regardless of what your week looked like, we have arrived at Friday. That magical land that we M-F workers dream of each and every week. So, I hope you can sit down and enjoy \”5 Things\” before you venture on into the even more magical weekend. Enjoy!

1) One of the coolest things on YouTube right now are the various groups, whether theatre, church, or whatever, getting together to sing via the internet. I adore these videos although they often bring a tear to my eyes. (It\’s allergies. I swear!) Well, among my favorites now is The Irish Blessing. You may also appreciate a whopping 772 singers from Singapore and their own \”blessing\” or \”Amazing Grace\” from 50 countries in many languages. Wow!

2) Happy 99th birthday to Prince Philip! That definitely has to be a royal record of some kind. The palace released a photo of Queen Elizabeth and Philip to commemorate the occasion. So far, the two have been married for 72 years. That\’s quite an accomplishment!

3) The YouTube algorithm is, as it seems, well-aware of my dorky side because it recommended a medieval-style cover of \”What is Love?\” (If not familiar with the original, you can check it out here.) In the 90s this song was everywhere including my dance classes! Again, the cover song is very dorky and if you\’re not dorky at least sometimes, you can skip this one.

4) Apparently, the mystery has come to an end: Famous NM riddler Forrest Fenn\’s treasure has been found. The ten-year search has brought people all over the world to try and find it. More than one person, sadly, even met their demise in the challenge. Well, here\’s wishing the best to whomever finally located the treasure. It\’s good to finally put this mystery to rest.

5) If you\’re feeling crafty, why not make your own Swan Lake headdress? The Royal Opera House decided to share the fun project on Instagram. I\’m actually excited to give this one a try. The materials are super simple and I can just see it as a great summer afternoon craft for kids.

Okay, that\’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
