5 Things: Total Eclipse of the Dessert Edition

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week or at least managed to find a video on Tik Tok that made you laugh out loud. Like belly laugh out loud! At this point, I guess I should mention here that I\’ve only used Tik Tok twice and failed to find such a video. Which led to the realization that I have officially crossed over into that realm where I don\’t quite understand what \”kids these days\” find humorous.

Anyway! We have reached the best day of the workweek, my friends. And you know what that means: time for a Friday mini-break to check out \”5 Things\” of interest. Enjoy!

1) \”What Are You Doing Wednesday\” this week on The Tonight Show is very cute. My favorite is the puppy with the robo-vacuum. What about you?

2) About two hours after finding out about Enola Holmes, a Sherlock Holmes adaptation where the main character is his teenage sister, it\’s released that the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle estate is suing for copyright infringement. The point of interest that must be acknowledged here is that said lawsuit was filed in my home state of New Mexico for reasons that are not immediately clear. You can read the complaint here that outlines \”…all fifty states including New Mexico\” several times. That just tickled my funnybone.

3) If, like me, you were not in an area of the world to enjoy the solar eclipse, check out some excellent photos of the event on June 21st! I especially loved the timelapse photo from Xiamen. Awesome!

4) Some time ago I read a book that mentioned \”Syllabub\” and had no clue what the author was talking about. Fortunately, this cook tried the historical recipe from the 1700s no less! The best part is that the author of the cookbook is Hannah Glass who has quite a wit in her writing. Very enjoyable video… even if you have absolutely no intention of making Syllabub. (I just like saying that name!)

5) And, for my fellow dorks, an especially dorky quiz: Would You Survive If You Were Stranded in the Wild? Full disclosure: According to the quiz, I probably would not survive for very long. This was not a surprising outcome!

Okay, that\’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
