The poet John Milton was born on this day in 1608. Mostly known for his epic work, Paradise Lost, Milton was a prolific poet thought to have begun his canon of work as young as age 15.
A standout work from Milton is titled \”On the Morning of Christ\’s Nativity\” (you can read the whole thing here). The first stanza really sums things up in a joyful way for the Christmas season:
