Good morning!
Charles Dickens\’ A Christmas Carol was first published on this day in 1843. I probably don\’t even have to tell you what this Christmas classic is all about: Charity, love, and redemption.
My favorite part of the tale is the last chapter where Scrooge realizes that he still has time to make amends. The reactions of all the people who know him are absolutely priceless. Scrooge soon concludes that kindness and giving make him far happier than he had ever been. No penny-pinching or gruffness could do that for him.
It\’s a good reminder this year, especially, to look for ways to spread kindness and give of ourselves to others. Even in dark times like Dickensian England, bringing joy to others is a gift for ourselves as well.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!
