Advent 2021: Day 11

Good morning!

For quite a few years now, my family has kept alive our grandmother’s tradition of getting together to bake Christmas cookies. We gather in the kitchen to make more cookies than any of us could (or should) eat. Just like she did all those years ago, we put together tins of treats to share with family and friends. In more recent years, we’ve also branched out into making Christmas ornaments.

It’s a busy afternoon of fun followed by a big meal together. And, if you haven’t been to a Romano gathering, that means a lot of laughter as we crowd around the table. There are now three generations together. I know that our grandmother would have loved to join in.

Today, I am grateful for traditions and those who are game enough to keep them alive. What are you thankful for today?

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
