Advent 2021: Day 15

Good morning!

If you’ve ever been to the southwest, you’ve probably seen one of the spectacular sunsets. It definitely helps that we have many, many days of blue skies each year to make those sunsets more visible. You’ll see people pull out their phones and cameras to capture the moment.

Then there are the less apparent treats that you encounter around here. Wildlife like doves, rabbits, and coyotes regularly make their appearance around my home. Depending on the time of year, there’s a well-fed hawk who claims the furthest post on my garden fence. Strangely, roses grow incredibly well in the desert and tend to bloom twice a year as a nice treat. (The list could go on and on.) These little things are a nice little reprieve from the status quo of the day and provide an opportunity to marvel at the natural world. It is so amazing!

What do you always look forward to seeing outside where you live?

Today I’m grateful for the beauty of my city in forms both large and small. What are you thankful for today?

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
