Happy Friday! Hope you all have a great week like the 11 Ukrainian refugees who were given a surprising place to stay. A lovely gesture! Hopefully, also a bit of a comfort to the displaced people while they’re away from home.

Well, even if your week didn’t go quite as planned, it is Friday, my friends! That means it’s time to put the phone on silent, grab a cup of tea, and check out another “5 Things.” Enjoy!
Now in its second season, the NBC comedy Mr. Mayor has become a favorite. It’s from the comedic genius of Tina Fey and company and follows the fictional mayor of Los Angeles (Ted Danson) and his staff. Super clever comedy with a fun cast that includes Holly Hunter and SNL alum Bobby Moynihan.
If you’re looking for something more exciting, you might enjoy Marvel’s latest series Moon Knight. Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) loses days at a time only to discover that he shares the same body as the dangerous Marc Spector. Together, as if they had a choice, the two are thrust into the world of Egyptian gods and the dubious motives of Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) who seems bent on taking the gods’ powers. The show is a favorite of my nephew and he’s gotten me hooked as well!
The history of Macaroni and Cheese goes back much further than I thought. The original was the food of kings and queens (duh, right?) and contained Parmesan cheese. Interesting stuff!
Apparently, the world of miniature cooking is alive and well on YouTube. Cute but not terribly practical, I think. What about you?
A new word was recently coined to describe the ideology behind the Ukraine invasion: “Ruscism.” (Read: A portmanteau word for Russian and fascism.) It’s unfortunate that we even need such a word and also interesting how language changes in such a short period of time.
Okay, that’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and remember to pray for Ukraine!
