Happy Friday! Hope you had a great week like the little sweethearts who have a special treat while they’re on a hospital stay. As a proud Honda owner, I just became that much prouder this week. What a great idea!

Apparently, (pun intended) the CEOs of YouTube and 23andMe were raised by the same parents! So, yes, you’re probably like me and willing to read anything their mom wrote in the hopes of helping the kids in your life be just a fraction as successful.
In publishing news, a merger between Random House and Simon and Schuster has been blocked in court. The rationale is that it could inhibit competition and even lessen what authors are paid.
Author Mary Widdicks recently shared a personal story from her childhood. It’s not difficult to believe that neighborhood children could be so cruel. But what her father did to protect her and even shield her from it is particularly striking.
Last but not least, bad weather could be good for you! I will say that some of my happiest memories include walking in Glencoe during a misty rain. Maybe they’re onto something!
