5 Things: Happy 2023!

Happy Friday and Happy New Year! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to an even better 2023. Maybe you can take some tips from the intrepid Jess Mell!

Well, even if you’re not feeling that adventurous, you’ve made it to the first Friday in 2023, friends. And you know that means it’s time for another “5 Things.” Enjoy!

After a scary event at the Bills/Bengals game, it looks like Damar Hamlin is showing signs of improvement! I’m reminded of the popular question “why do bad things happen?” And I think that we now know that it’s not about the why but what happens afterward. Case and point Damar’s “modest” children’s toy drive. Bad things can bring out the best in people if we let them.

BBC.com recently featured a cute story about an unusual couple. (Aren’t they adorable?) It reminded me a bit of the Day 10 post of last year’s Advent series.

What’s a cold winter day without a warm dessert? I present for your consideration “Dark Chocolate Bread Pudding.” The scent of chocolate baking and the pure indulgence of fresh bread pudding with a cup of your favorite hot beverage while you watch the snow fall… The perfect afternoon!

If you’re looking for a hilarious game to play with the family, I cannot recommend New Phone, Who Dis? enough. We played it with my niece and nephew a few times between Christmas and New Year’s Eve and laughed until our faces hurt. Great bonding time!

And, last but not least, you might need a Looney Tunes break. You’re welcome!

Okay, that’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
