You’re making sales. You’re spending money. But… are you actually making money? 🤔

It’s surprisingly easy to lose track when you’re running a small creative business.

A sale here. Supplies there. Shipping materials. Platform fees. That completely necessary purchase you made at 11:47 p.m. because obviously your business could not continue without it.

Money is coming in.

Money is going out.

And eventually you have to ask:

“Wait. Did I actually make money?”

That’s exactly what this spreadsheet is designed to tell you.

Did I Actually Make Money? is a simple Microsoft Excel sales and expense tracker created for makers, authors, artists, service providers, and small business owners who want to understand how their business is doing without becoming spreadsheet experts in the process.

Enter what you sell.

Enter what you spend.

Then head to the Dashboard.

Excel does the math and gives you three numbers that actually matter:

Total Sales • Total Expenses • Net Profit

And because numbers occasionally need moral support, the Dashboard will even tell you whether you actually made money. 😉

WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE

One Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) workbook containing:

• Simple Dashboard
• Sales Tracker
• Expense Tracker
• Automatic Total Sales calculation
• Automatic Total Expenses calculation
• Automatic Net Profit calculation
• Easy category dropdown menus
• Protected calculation cells to help prevent accidental formula changes
• Example entries to show you how it works
• Simple instructions

HOW IT WORKS

1. Delete the purple example entries.

2. Enter everything you sell on the Sales tab.

3. Enter what you spend on the Expenses tab.

4. Return to the Dashboard.

5. Discover whether you actually made money.

That’s it.

As promised, this shouldn’t be terrifying. 😁

MADE FOR CREATIVE SMALL BUSINESSES

This spreadsheet is especially useful for:

Authors • Artists • Makers • Crafters • Etsy sellers • Freelancers • Service providers • Side hustlers • Creative entrepreneurs • Very small businesses • Anyone currently tracking business finances through a sophisticated system known as “I think I wrote that down somewhere.”

YOU DON’T NEED TO KNOW EXCEL

The formulas are already built in.

You don’t need to create calculations, build a dashboard, or know what a SUM formula does.

If you can type your sales and expenses into a row, Excel can handle the rest.

Because you started your business to make things, sell things, write things, help people, or do whatever it is that you do.

Probably not because you had an overwhelming desire to build spreadsheets.

I did that part for you.
