5 Things: St. Patty’s Day 2023 Edition

Happy Friday and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Hope you all had a great week like the teacher who learned first-hand that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery… on superhero day! This is one of the cutest stories that you’ll read this week. You’re welcome!

Well, even if no one dressed up like you on superhero day, it is Friday! And you know that means it’s also time to butter up a slice of Irish Soda Bread while you check up another “5 Things.” Enjoy!

The New York Times column/podcast Modern Love featured two charming stories in the episode titled “Stop Looking for the Perfect Partner.” Great stories and now you might feel inspired to take a Tango class.

A 1909 recipe titled “Food for the Gods” is not quite what I expected. (Also, the dude talks a mile a minute.) I suppose the recipe does sound better than so-called ambrosia Although, as a devoted chocoholic, I believe that anything worthy of any mythical gods ought to include dark chocolate. Obviously!

As a former southerner, it has easy to appreciate SNL’s recent “Waffle House” skit. I would not be surprised if any (or all) of those background incidents were based on actual events. If a Waffle House’s walls could talk!

I don’t know about you, but some joyful baby goats are just what the doctor ordered today!

And, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, here is an Irish Soda Bread Muffin recipe. Yum! I can taste a hot butter muffin now. Better get baking…

Okay, that’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
