Happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week like the scientists whose latest triumph over breast cancer could be a game-changer. Incredible!

Well, even if your week did not feature any spectacular triumphs, it is Friday, my friends! And you know that means it’s also time to pour yourself a cuppa and check out another “5 Things.” Enjoy!

The series A Small Light from National Geographic (Available on Hulu and Disney+) chronicles the time period surrounding Anne Frank’s diary but from the perspective of one of her heroes Mieps Gies. While a lot of the story is likely creative license, it does give a glimpse into the more adult concerns of the occupation/hiding. Next on my list is to read Miep’s own book!

The Alchemy Thief by R.A. Denny blends an incredible narrative and brilliant history into a Time Travel drama. Protagonist Peri not only finds herself sent back in time but also at odds with a stranger from her own time!

Mark Rober’s new show on Discovery apparently includes getting revenge on movie texters!

I loved Ann Reardon’s recent deep dive into the legacy of Betty Crocker! She has a great channel if you are looking for some content revolving around food and some fun guest appearances from her family members.

Lastly, this week’s earworm was The Beatles’ “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away.”

Okay, that’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
