5 Things: Lost House Hippo Edition

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week like the folks in Ukraine who had a little bright spot in the form of some nesting storks. What beautiful birds!

Well, even if there was no such symbol of hope in your corner of the world this week, it is finally FRIDAY! And you know that also means it’s time to put your phone on silent and your interoffice messenger on “away” to check out another “5 Things.” Enjoy!

This week on Twitter, author Penny Benjamin brought up the infamous “house hippo.” Do you know what a house hippo is?

An odd question recently occurred to me: Are there other natural phenomena similar to the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights? So, in the never-ending quest for knowledge on the internet down the rabbit hole I went! Did you know that there are also Southern Lights and Moonbows? How about bioluminescent worms in a cave?

Wired recently had a great article titled “The Secret to Being Lucky.”

Sandra Bullock’s delightfully dorky The Lost City has come to Prime Video. In the film, Sandy plays romance author Loretta Sage. Sage is kidnapped because, long story short, she also has a talent for dead languages and might be useful to an eccentric billionaire who is looking for an ancient city. Of course, that means her Fabio-like book cover muse must try to save her.

And what better than Italian Iced Orange Cookies to enjoy on a hot summer weekend? Yummy, yum, yum!

Okay, that’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and please continue to pray for Ukraine!
