5 Things: Sharp Suspension Steak Edition

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week like the school-age children on this bus. The quick thinking of that young man really averted what could have been a major disaster. Wow!

Well, even if you didn’t avoid disaster this week, it is Friday, my friends! You know that means it’s time to put on your favorite Spotify playlist and check out another “5 Things.” Enjoy!

I’m definitely a little biased in my love for this article about how novels can help keep your brain sharp! It makes a lot of sense given that my maternal grandmother had a weekly appointment at the library during her life. Sharp as a tack!

(Psst! If you need a novel to read, I’ve written two.)

This article about a proposed suspension bridge from mainland Italy to Sicily just tickled my funny bone a bit. Obstacles include environmental activists, fault lines, and the mafia. An interesting read although I think I’d rather stick with the ferry. What about you?

Even though the weather is getting warmer, it seemed like a good weekend for comfort food. Enter Chef John’s Salisbury Steak! I’ve made it once before with baby portabella mushrooms and it’s incredible with brown rice and green beans… or mashed potatoes if you want to get the full experience!

If you’re interested in motorcycles or know someone who is, please check out The GOAR Report on YouTube. Great information even for a motorcycle novice like myself!

And shameless self-promotion: Ellie Lieberman, author and crafter among other things, made a wonderful video about ‘Just in Time’ and a scented bookmark that she has crafted to go with it! Please help me repay the kindness by checking out her delightful Etsy shop called AcornTops and even some of her books including The Butter Thief!

Okay, that’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
